The automotive data logger market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 7.19% from 2018 to 2025. The market is estimated to be USD 3.36 billion in 2018 and is projected to reach USD 5.46 billion by 2025. The key growth drivers of this market are the higher penetration of advanced electronic components in the modern vehicle architecture and their testing that is performed prior to the vehicle’s commercialization.
The regulatory bodies’ segment will grow at the highest rate as the industry moves toward new priorities of manufacturing self-driving cars and environment-friendly vehicles. Thus, the old regulations need a lot of revision, and several new laws need to be created. For this, the governing bodies need to understand the functioning of these modern vehicles properly, for which data loggers are widely used at the test centres of regulatory bodies.

High-speed controlled area network (HS-CAN) is the most commonly used communication interface in automobiles. It allows a communication speed of up to 1 Mbps and a high level of data integrity. CAN partial networking (PN) is another solution that reduces the current consumption in active mode, which allows setting an ECU in a low power or active mode.
